Monochromatic Blue Wedding at Nanina’s in the Park
March 18, 2026

Nanina’s in the Park Wedding Invitation Suite
This suite, designed in June 2025, began the way many of my favorite projects do, with a clear vision and a mother determined to find the right quality.
Kayla found me on Instagram while searching for a New Jersey stationer. After ordering samples from larger online retailers, she and her mom felt the paper and printing didn’t reflect the level of formality they were planning. They wanted weight. Texture. Intention. Something that felt considered from the moment guests opened the envelope.
From our first call, two details anchored everything:
Peonies are Kayla’s favorite flower.
Blue is both her and Robert’s favorite color.
We built from there.
Choosing Nanina’s in the Park
Nanina’s in the Park offered exactly what they were looking for — summer gardens filled with florals and a newly built Tuscan chapel that feels like a small piece of Italy in New Jersey.
They wanted their wedding to feel Mediterranean without asking guests to travel. Staying local ensured every family member could attend, while the architecture and grounds delivered the European atmosphere Kayla loved. Nanina’s reputation — especially for its cocktail hour and Venetian hour — also mattered. Guest experience was part of their decision from the beginning.
The setting informed the paper.

Designing a Floral-Forward Invitation Suite
For this Nanina’s in the Park wedding, we created a monochromatic blue invitation suite layered with peony-inspired florals.
The focal point was a three-ink letterpress invitation card — a decision we made to fully commit to the floral-heavy aesthetic Kayla envisioned. Using three shades of blue created depth within the artwork while keeping the palette cohesive. The letterpress impression added a tactile quality that aligned with the elevated feel they were searching for.

From there, we carried the blue throughout:
- Blue ink across the suite
- A coordinating blue envelope
- A silk blue ribbon wrap
- Floral detailing inspired by peonies

Nothing introduced a competing color. The consistency was intentional. The bridesmaids wore light blue dresses, and bouquets were filled with peonies, so when guests arrived on the wedding day, the transition from invitation to ceremony felt seamless.

The Wedding Day
June in New Jersey gave them early summer florals in full bloom. The gardens at Nanina’s were lush, which made the pastel-forward color story feel natural within the landscape rather than decorative.
The ceremony took place inside the Tuscan chapel. From there, guests moved into the reception, where Nanina’s signature cocktail hour and Venetian hour delivered the abundance they were excited about from the start.

It was cohesive without feeling overdesigned — layered blues, peonies, and a venue that already carried strong visual character on its own.
Why Custom Mattered
One of the most meaningful parts of this project was hearing why they chose to work with me.
Kayla shared that after our first call, she knew I would meet her mom’s expectations — and create something elevated enough to reflect the formality of the day. My role isn’t simply to design something beautiful; it’s to guide couples toward decisions that feel aligned with their venue, florals, and overall vision.
After the wedding, she wrote:
I highly recommend Caroline. I used her for my wedding invitation suite for my wedding in June 2025 and I have received so many compliments from guests about how they are ‘the nicest,’ ‘most beautiful,’ and ‘fanciest’ invitations they have ever received. Caroline is thoughtful in her process and takes time to really listen to what you want. I loved the process and it was very stress free and efficient. Caroline is amazing and if you book with her you will have incredible stationery!
Hearing that the process felt stress-free and efficient matters just as much as the compliments about the invitations themselves.

A Cohesive Story in Blue
This Nanina’s in the Park wedding began with peonies and the color blue — and unfolded into a fully realized paper story. From three-ink letterpress to silk ribbon, every detail supported the larger aesthetic and the setting at Nanina’s.
